My Minimalist Lifestyle

Not only do I love minimalism as it pertains to aesthetics, but also the lifestyle! I found minimalism in college through The Minimalists documentary & blog on Netflix and have been inspired ever since. Organizing & cleaning has always been my meditation.

What I love most is how minimalism supports similar values as the gospel: people over possessions, generosity over greed, controlling our desires of the flesh and not idolizing "worldly things", and living a simple, intentional life of purpose. The Christian and minimalist lifestyles are very compatible!

This is also the way I like to approach health & wellness! My husband and I love weightlifting & hiking. We love to cook at home and really try to be intentional and minimal about our ingredients. At the beginning of 2024, I finally started an edible garden! It has always been my goal to be able to provide my family with fresh, homegrown ingredients. As a homemaker, I am very intentional about creating a healthy environment for my family.

One of my guilty pleasures, though, is clothes! Minimalism challenges me to focus on consuming less, getting creative with outfits, and emphasize spiritual growth over external beauty. Jesus preaches extensively on heart position over outward appearance in his Sermon on the Mount.

Minimalism can support the Christian lifestyle by encouraging a shift in focus away from material desires and toward spiritual fulfillment, contentment, and responsible stewardship of resources. However, it's important to note that while minimalism can be a helpful tool, true transformation ultimately comes from a deepening relationship with God and reliance on His grace and guidance.
